Supervision toward your licence.

Board-approved clinical supervision for pre-licensure counsellors and alcohol and drug counsellors across Maryland, through secure video.

Maryland requires 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience before the Board will convert a graduate licence into a clinical one. Those hours only count if the person signing them is approved by the Board to supervise your specific category, which is the detail that costs people a year when they find it out late.

Hélène Ndoye Diop appears on the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists supervisor registry under licence LC3023. Supervision runs through secure video, the same way the clinical work does.

What the registry actually says

The Board keeps a supervisor registry that is separate from its main licence lookup, and the two do not show the same information. The supervisor entry reads: Diop, Helene S., LC3023, approved to supervise LGPC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD and AD-TRAINEE.

If you hold a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor credential and are accruing hours toward the LCPC, or you are working inside the alcohol and drug counselling categories, that approval covers you. Verify it yourself before committing to any supervisor, including this one. It takes two minutes on the Board's site and it is the check most people skip.

How supervision runs here

Sessions are scheduled rather than arranged ad hoc, because hours that arrive in bursts do not build a clinician. Supervision is individual and runs by secure video, and the documentation the Board requires is completed as you go rather than reconstructed from memory at the end.

Seventeen years of practice sits behind it, across individual, couples and family work, including substance use settings and court-involved work. Supervision draws on that range rather than a single model.

What the work looks like

Case consultation is part of it, but the more useful part is usually the pattern underneath the case: what you avoid, what you rush, whose approval you are managing in the room. Supervision that only reviews treatment plans produces a competent technician and a clinician who stalls.

Expect direct feedback, and expect to be asked what you were feeling rather than only what you did. That is the same question the work asks of clients, and it does not stop applying because you are the one holding the room.

Practical details

Supervision is arranged individually, so scheduling and fees are settled before anything begins. Use the contact form and say which licence category you hold and roughly how many hours you have already banked.

Enquiries come back within 24 to 48 hours. Supervision is a professional arrangement rather than clinical care; if you are in crisis yourself, call or text 988.
