Belief is rarely neutral ground. For many people it is the frame everything else sits inside: how a family decides, what counts as a good life, what may be said out loud and what may not.

When that frame shifts, or collides with the life you are actually living, the effects are clinical rather than abstract.

What this often looks like

Losing, questioning, or returning to a faith you were raised in, and the grief or guilt that follows.

A gap between what your family or community expects and what you privately believe.

Religious guilt and scrupulosity: the sense of never being right enough.

Relationships across two faiths, or where one partner practices and the other does not.

Decisions about raising children inside a tradition, or outside one.

Questions of meaning after a loss, an illness, or an injustice your framework did not prepare you for.

How I work with it

I do not tell you what to believe, and I do not treat faith as a symptom. Your tradition, or your leaving of it, is material we work with the way we work with family history or culture: carefully, on your terms, and without an assumed destination.

If your religious life is central to how you understand yourself, it belongs in the room. If it has become a source of pressure you want space from, that belongs here too. Sessions are available in English or French.

Is this a fit?

Is this the right fit?

A few markers before you get in touch.

You'll likely get the most from this work if you are:

  • Adults and couples across Maryland
  • People in a faith transition, or living between two traditions
  • Interfaith households and bilingual families

The work asks for:

  • A willingness to look at beliefs you have not examined
  • Regular attendance
  • Openness to deciding rather than only understanding
